President's Letter

Founded in 1967, the Financial Communications Society has evolved into the singular voice of the financial services marketing community by bringing together industry professionals to further the development of our shared businesses through education and networking, while demonstrating a commitment to philanthropic endeavors.

It is with great pride that we donate the net proceeds of numerous annual events to our three chosen children's charities:

- Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund
- Make-A-Wish Foundation
- Downey Side Adoption Agency

Over the past 10 years, these three charities have received more than $1 million from the FCS, primarily through the success of our annual FCS Race for Kids ski weekend.

Another meaningful way we measure the success of our philanthropic efforts is the outreach of our annual Job Shadow Day, hosted in conjunction with Junior Achievement.  Since 1999, we have placed more than 300 New York City high school students in "job shadow" opportunities across our industry, from financial firms to advertising agencies to financial publications.

On the professional front, the success of the FCS lies in our ability, year-after-year, to host invaluable events for our members and industry friends, which provide platforms to review and analyze meaningful trends in financial communications and to evaluate the strategies and creative executions of leading brands.

Ultimately the success of the FCS and the events we host relies on the engagement of our community.  On this website you can read about the various activities of our committees, and you can see how opportunities abound for you to become a part of our organization.  We invite you to join today and get involved!
